Ike's "Little Grammy" loves to sing him this song about the animals in the zoo, so I thought it would be an appropriate title for this entry.
We went on our first zoo trip on Friday with our friends Nick, Sam, and Emery. Ike seemed to enjoy people-watching just as much as animal-watching. He really liked the kangaroos. It was easier to get a photo of him with them than any other animal.
To make things easier on me, he stayed in the stroller for most of the visit. He did come out for a very short train ride. He was doing fine on the train until we went into a few tunnels. He gripped my leg pretty tightly during those!
He got very antsy after the train ride so I let him walk for a while. He didn't want to hold my hand and attempted to run off in the opposite direction from where we were heading. He giggled menacingly as I chased after him. I'd pick him up and try to put him in the stroller, but he was resisting that quite a bit. I let him walk again and within a few seconds he fell and skinned his knee. He got right up and tried to run off again! He didn't even seem to care that it was bleeding. With some help from our other friends, I put him back in the stroller. Phew! I was tired after that trip!
