19 weeks old

Ike turned 19 weeks old on Thursday. He continues to grow and change daily. He can rotate 360 degrees when he's on his back. He is also sitting up with some support. He hasn't rolled from his back to his stomach yet, but he does go from his back to his side. He is happy to play independently for 10 minutes, which is great because this allows me to get a few things done without having to carry him around. We love to watch him play, laugh, and smile.

Father's Day

Father's Day was a hot day in Atlanta. J started mowing the lawn at 7:45AM just to avoid the heat. He made Ike and me proud! Before that though, Ike gave Daddy his present. We had a lot of fun making it a few weeks ago. I almost couldn't wait for him to see it! Later on, J watched Ike while I went grocery shopping. We ended the day with a delicious dinner of chicken marsala and spinach with orzo.

A Little Fish

We had a busy weekend.  On Friday, Aunt Debbie came into town to visit.   She brought some rubber pants from the BRU in Hickory since I couldn't find them at any of our stores.  On Saturday, we went to Ella's naming.  Ike was extremely well-behaved for his first time at temple.  We didn't have to take him out at all.

On Saturday afternoon, Ike had his first dip in the pool.  We took him out after 10 minutes since it was such a hot day.  He did seem to enjoy the water.

On Saturday evening, we had dinner with Uncle Michael, Aunt Leslie, Uncle Matt, and Aunt Debbie.

18 weeks on June 18th

Ike is 18 weeks old today, the 18th of June. That's double lucky, since the number 18 in Hebrew is chai, meaning life.

We visited with some of my former team members from Vickery Creek today. Ike got to have lunch with 6 lovely women, including Baby Lily!

It's too darn hot!

We went to Playtown Suwanee today for a GAM event.  We stayed in the shade for most of the time.  Ike tried out one of the infant swings for fun, but he's clearly not interested yet.

Yesterday, we hung out at home.  We did go in the backyard to try out the splash ducky we got from Aunt Debbie.  Looks like we'll have to wait a little longer for that too.

Monday, Monday

I just realized that I haven't posted Ike's 17 week photo to the blog, so here it is!  Last Wednesday, we went to Creative Clayhouse, a paint your pottery place, to make a special surprise for J for Father's Day.   I don't want to give any other details now, but I will certainly post photos after the "big reveal."

I have been on a crazy hunt for rubber (or plastic) pants so that Ike can take a little dip in our neighborhood pool.  Our pool insists that babies wear swim diapers AND rubber pants.  Who knew they'd be so hard to find?  Babies R Us carries them, but they won't have his size for another month.  Ugh!  Thank goodness, Aunt Debbie is coming to visit from North Carolina on Friday.  Her BRU had them, so she is going to bring them with her when she comes.

In case I haven't mentioned it yet, Ike is going to have a cousin very soon.  His Aunt Leslie (my sister) is due in August.  We don't know if I'll be having a niece or a nephew, but we are just thrilled that Ike will have a cousin so close to his age.  I am busy getting ready for the shower.  It's one of my biggest creative outlets right now.

Sunday at the Park

All three of us packed up for a Jewish Federation picnic at Suwanee Town Center Park on Sunday.  Ike got to meet Ari the Lion, the federation mascot.  He even wore a little yarmulke on the top of his mane!  We splashed in the fountain, met some other families, and chatted with our neighbors, Mike and Lori.  They were kind enough to share their camping chairs with us.  What a fun day!

Shabbat Shalom!

Ike is 16 weeks, 1 day old today.  He is such a joy!  He and I went to playgroup again today at a nearby synagogue.  Uncle Michael met us there, and then we went to lunch at the Jerusalem Bakery.  We ate some excellent schwarma and I brought home a DELICIOUS challah.

Oops! I forgot to post Ike's 15 week photo last week. He is growing so fast, I can hardly stand it!
