Hi There!

We caught some footage of Ike just saying "Hi!" I figure we're not the only people who will think it sounds quite cute.

Garden Guy

We enjoyed a visit to the Atlanta Botanical Garden with Little Grammy and Grandpa today. The little man enjoyed some time out of his stroller and checking out the children's garden. There was a splash area in the children's garden, but Ike was a little wary of all the big kids that were there. Afterwards, he had his first biscuit at the Flying Biscuit! Yum!

Fountain Fun

It's been a while since I posted a video of Ike. He is running all over the place these days! Enjoy this clip of him at the fountains.

All the Animals in the Zoo...

Ike's "Little Grammy" loves to sing him this song about the animals in the zoo, so I thought it would be an appropriate title for this entry.

We went on our first zoo trip on Friday with our friends Nick, Sam, and Emery. Ike seemed to enjoy people-watching just as much as animal-watching. He really liked the kangaroos. It was easier to get a photo of him with them than any other animal.

To make things easier on me, he stayed in the stroller for most of the visit. He did come out for a very short train ride. He was doing fine on the train until we went into a few tunnels. He gripped my leg pretty tightly during those!

He got very antsy after the train ride so I let him walk for a while. He didn't want to hold my hand and attempted to run off in the opposite direction from where we were heading. He giggled menacingly as I chased after him. I'd pick him up and try to put him in the stroller, but he was resisting that quite a bit. I let him walk again and within a few seconds he fell and skinned his knee. He got right up and tried to run off again! He didn't even seem to care that it was bleeding. With some help from our other friends, I put him back in the stroller. Phew! I was tired after that trip!

15 Month Stats

Ike had his 15 month checkup today with Dr. H. Here are his latest numbers:

Height: 32.25 inches (90%)
Weight: 22 lbs. 3 oz. (25%)
Head circumference: 18.5 inches (50%)

We wondered if Ike is underweight, but Dr. H. said not to worry about it. Toddlers at Ike's age tend to eat only one good meal a day, and many parents wonder if they are eating enough. Weight gain slows down quite a bit now, and the doctor also told us that we can expect a finicky eater from now until about three to five years of age. (Oh great!)

Dr. H. seemed very pleased with Ike's demeanor. He said he was very curious and loving. We couldn't agree more!
