28 weeks/1st Storytime

Ike is 28 weeks old today. This morning, we scrambled out of the house a bit before 9 so we could get to the library for story time. When we arrived, I realized I must have remembered the time wrong because the library doesn't open until 10! We wasted some time by going to Starbucks and then returned to the library around 9:45. There were a few people waiting outside by then. The story time is designed for kids two and under, and there was quite a crowd.
I made a point to thank the librarian afterward. She has to be quite versatile to be able to entertain that many antsy toddlers and mommies! Ike had a great time. I think we'll make it a weekly event. We like free stuff!

This post includes my first attempt at including video of Ike. It's not easy to get him to perform for the camera. He is extremely fascinated with the lights and sounds.

Lunch w/the Ladies

Ike lucked out! He had lunch today with three beautiful women: his mom, Shelly, and her daughter, Ella. Both kids did a great job eating their lunches. However, while Ella quickly dozed off, Ike was squirming after his tummy was full.

27 weeks

As you can see in these photos, taking Ike's weekly photo is becoming more of a challenge. I think the doctor used the words "curious" and "inquisitive." Sounds like an active one to me!

6 month check...watch me grow!

Yesterday was Ike's 6 month appointment. Once again, he proved to be an active, joyful, and enthusiastic little boy for the doctor and nurse.
Here are his latest stats:

8/18 17 lbs, 2 oz. 50% (last checkup was 15 lbs. 50%)

8/18 27 and 7/8 inches tall 75-90% (last checkup was 25 and 1/4 inches 50%)
Dr. H. thinks he's going to be tall!

8/18 17 and 1/4 inches head circumference 25-50% (last checkup was 16.375 10-25%)

Bar Mitzvah

I know this post is overdue, but I've always heard "better late than never!" We had a lovely time at Randy's bar mitzvah last weekend. Ike never seemed to grow tired of being passed around from family member to family member. Then again, Saturday evening was a little rough, but he sure was a trooper!

Ike met several relatives for the first time and saw many others for the second or third time since his birth in February. He enjoyed a car ride with his first cousins Jason and Justin. Abuela Olga brought him an adorable guayabera, which he wore on Saturday night for formal pictures in the lobby of the Hard Rock Hotel. He even stayed awake for some of cocktail hour, which was way past his bedtime. Thankfully, Little Grammy and Grandpa Alan took over for his bedtime routine.

26 weeks

Ike's "unbirthday" was yesterday, August 12th. He is such a wonderful boy! We are looking forward to seeing him interact with his brand new cousin, Lillian Sophie, who was born (3 weeks early!) on Saturday, August 8th!

1st Road Trip

Ike was extremely well-behaved on his first road trip. He spent most of his time in the car sleeping, which is just what his mommy likes to do too!

We left around 9:30AM on Thursday morning. We stopped around noon for lunch and then again at 4PM for Ike's bottle. We arrived in Gainesville around 5:30PM. Not bad for a 6 month old!

25 weeks/Baby Gator

Yikes! We are so far behind. We were able to take Ike's 25 week photo in Gainesville in front of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field. We were on our way to Orlando for Randy's bar mitzvah. Doesn't Ike make a handsome Baby Gator?
